You will serve as a SUPERVISORY HR SPEC (CLASS/RECRUITMENT & PLACEMENT) in the STAFFING & CLASSIFICATION ADVISORY BRANCH of MARINE CORPS BASE.
Duties
You will provide expert technical advice on: direct hire authorities, temporary/term recruitments, pay-setting, DoD Priority Placement Program (PPP), appointment eligibilities, qualification standards, and recruitment/relocation/retention incentives.
You will ensure consistent interpretation and communication of staffing and classification program guidance and continually analyze the effectiveness of the Staffing and Classification programs.
You will oversee the application of new classification standards, the establishment of new/revised position descriptions, reorganizations/realignments, wage surveys, classification advisories and appeals, etc.
You will provide expert advice on proposed organizational changes for existing positions, effective position restructuring, and downsizing initiatives.
You will assign work based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
You will set performance standards and evaluate work performance of subordinates.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying human resources principles, policies, regulations and practices to advise management on workforce planning; advising and resolving technical issues in staffing and recruitment; AND analyzing and evaluating organizational structures and operating needs to make recommendations regarding appropriate position classification.
