THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRMAN AND FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST (Title 5), Position Description Number T5303P01 and is part of the IL 182 AW, National Guard.

Duties

As a AIRMAN AND FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST (Title 5), GS-0301-9, you will serve as the family readiness and support services representative at an ANG Wing and coordinate concurrently with the Force Support Squadron Commander/Human Resource Officer (Director of Personnel (DP)) at each wing, Joint Force Headquarters - State (JFHQ-ST) Family Program Director, NGB Family Programs Office, and US Air Force/Major Command (MAJCOM) Family Readiness Directors. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Provide assistance to the Wing leadership in the development and implementation of a family readiness and support program and provide family readiness assistance at the geographic separated unit(s) (GSU). Assist the Air National Guard Wing leadership in the development and implementation of a family readiness and support program to include Personal and Family Life Education services, Airman and Family Readiness Deployment Support, Personal Financial Readiness services, Employment Assistance, Military Child/Youth Program and Education, Transition Assistance Program - Title 32 and 10 funding, Wounded, Ill, and Injured Warrior/member and or family member, Disaster Preparedness - EFAC/AFPAAS, Relocation Assistance Program, Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP), Community Outreach and Cooperative Interface, Voting Assistance Program, and Educates on Survivor Benefit Plan at the unit level and provides family readiness assistance at the GSUs. Identify Wing family needs and concerns and presents appropriate plans, and recommendations to facilitate family readiness and support decisions. Provide plans for an efficient resource management program and maximum support of service delivery to include resource center (discovery center), equipment, funding, tracking, and computerized systems - AFFIRST, etc. Analyze ongoing family Wing/GSU services evaluation program and provide recommendations to resolve problems of overlap, duplication or conflict and to ensure effective goals and objectives are accomplished. Identify service member and family issues that require exploration, development, and resolutions, and determines appropriate methods and resources. Coordinate information for seminars, conferences, and orientation workshops as appropriate for family members and volunteers. Maintain effective working relationships with individuals/families and ability to enhance and maximize the volunteer capability to support the family program with active volunteer services

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09 Level - MUST possess specialized experience which includes at least 1-year at the lower-level GS-07. Experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Verbiage displayed on your resume or application must contain your own words. Education

If you are using Education to qualify for this position, successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in any field leading to a master's or equivalent graduate degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-09 level requirements.
