THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRMAN AND FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5302P02 and is part of the IL 182 AW, National Guard.

Duties

As a AIRMAN AND FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST (TITLE 5), GS-0301-11, you will serve as the family readiness and support services representative at an ANG Wing and coordinate concurrently with the Force Support Squadron Commander/Human Resources Officer (Director of Personnel (DP)) at each wing, Joint Force Headquarters - State (JFHQ-ST) Family Program Director, NGB Family Programs Office, and US Air Force/Major Command (MAJCOM) Family Readiness Directors. Responsible for managing the coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scope, development, design and direction of the family readiness and support programs. Develop plans for an efficient resource management program and maximum support of service delivery to include resource center (discovery center), equipment, funding, tracking, and computerized systems - AFFIRST, etc. Provide plans that maximize readiness and support resources for unit family member assistance during day-to-day operations and especially for Aerospace Expeditionary Force (AEF) deployments and full or partial unit mobilizations. Identify requirements and initiates requests for additional resources including personnel, overtime, equipment, supplies, training and space to ensure success in meeting goals and objectives. Conduct projects and studies using a variety of analytical techniques in order to document needs and concerns in regard to family readiness and well-being. Attend conferences, workshops, and meetings on quality-of-life family readiness, transition, and other support issues for purpose of receiving information as directed. Provide guidance to the ANG Wing leadership in the development and implementation of a family readiness and support program and provides family readiness assistance at the GSUs. Analyze current Family program support for Wing Families and determines where there are gaps in service or support and where gaps exist, develops and manages programs that support Wing Families. Develop solutions to issues and provide recommendations to senior leadership which impact substantially on the manner in which the family programs are carried out and to the implementation of program improvements identified. Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess the experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information; progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled; experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11 Level - MUST possess the specialized experience equivalent to at least 1-year at the lower-level GS-09, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions; experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations; experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures; experience preparing written communications and oral presentations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
