About the Position: Serves as an Administrative Officer for the III Corps, Fort Cavazos, Secretary of the General Staff. Provides administrative advice and counsel to the Corps staff and other agencies within III Corps.

Duties

Provide administrative advice and counsel to the Corps staff and other agencies within III Corps. Participate in the planning, directing and coordination of the procedural and administrative functions of the Secretary of the General Staff (SGS) and staff. Maintain pertinent information and keep the SGS informed on matters such as actions, Military Air (MILAIR), Task Management Tool (TMT), Temporary Duty (TDYs), Government Purchase Card (GPC), awards, timekeeping, etc. Participate in planning revisions to the fiscal year budget and in the procedures and methods pertaining to budget trends and special studies. Develop, accumulate, and analyze a variety of statistical data including charts, graphs, or reports. Prepare in final form all types of documentation and forms relevant to office management and personnel administration. Maintain records of purchases, inventories supplies, orders supplies needed for all offices, ensuring all purchases follow established guidelines.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Performing administrative duties related to staff actions, task management, travel, and/or budget; and 2) Utilizing database systems to maintain program data; and 3) compiling data for reports, briefings, and other informational material. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Adminitstration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Clerical Planning and Evaluating Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-???????07).
