Duties

As the Directorate's Administrative Officer, coordinates and consults with Executive Officer and division supervisors on administrative matters that can affect a workforce. Maintains pertinent employee information and keeps the Executive Officer and Director informed on matters such as retirements, resignations, adverse actions, reassignments or downgrades, high grade vacancies, awards, etc. Participates with the Executive Officer, Director and subordinates in planning revisions to personnel ceilings and in the procedures and methods pertaining to budget trends and special studies Develops, accumulates, and analyzes a variety of historical and statistical data including charts, graphs, or reports reflecting effectiveness and efficiency standings. Serves as Training Coordinator, Interactive Customer Evaluation (ICE) program coordinator, Travel and Time and Attendance coordinator. Writes and/or edits reports, briefings, information papers, and other informational material designed primarily to report functions of the Directorate. Performs general administrative services for the Executive Officer and the Director to include organizing special events such as birthday and holiday celebrations. Serve as Defense Travel System (DTS) coordinator. Mointor and utilize Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) systems for various tasks.

Requirements

  • Probationary period may be required.
  • 5% business travel may be required.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE TO QUALIFY AT THE GS-09 LEVEL: One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative duties and providing advice on the practical aspects of office administration related to timekeeping, training, travel orders/vouchers, table of distribution and allowances and/or budget. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as Business Management or Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
