The employee serves as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist for the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and is responsible for a wide range of technical IT-related projects and duties in support of program- wide IT projects and initiatives. These duties include technical engineering support, computer systems deployment and management, project management, end user support, developing documentation, and other duties as assigned.

The duties and responsibilities of this Information Technology (IT) Specialist GS-2210-14 position include but are not limited to:
Work independently to perform requirements analyses, technical research, create project plans and documentation, and execute a broad range of complex IT projects and related duties.
Responsible for and/or assists in the monitoring, evaluation, maintenance, remediation, and support of USTP IT systems and infrastructure, as assigned.
Prepare recurring and/or ad hoc reports; prepares statistical reports, technical and operational assessments, incident reports, proposals for improvements, and formal technical Change Requests.
Act as an IT liaison for field office and facilities relocations and special projects. Provides technical guidance and recommendations for equipment, network, and other IT requirements.
Responsible for providing highly responsive and comprehensive end user support, typically addressing the more complex and/or sensitive issues that are escalated to him/her from Help Desk personnel.
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Information Technology Specialist at (GS-2210-14), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to.
If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information).
Basic Requirements: You must have IT related experience demonstrating each of the following competencies:
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, and/or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information; makes clear and convincing presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
AND
Specialized Experience: To Qualify for the GS-14 you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as providing enterprise level project management in support of program wide IT projects and initiatives (technical engineering support, computer systems, end user support, etc.) and developing technical reference documentation (directives, SOP's, statements of work, polices, etc.).
