About the Position: This position is located at the 407th Army Field Support Brigade Logistics Readiness Center, Supply & Services Division, Food Services Branch in Fort Cavazos, TX.

Duties

Guide the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) on resolving noncompliance issues and implementing corrective actions effectively. Provide guidance to dining facility staff on the proper care, use, and maintenance of food service equipment to maintain efficiency. Advise on equipment upgrades and modernization efforts to enhance dining facility functionality. Analyze statistical data to compile quarterly Food Cost and Feeding Strength Summary Reports for program oversight. Inspect food preparation processes to verify meal quality, progressive cookery, and plate waste management. Conduct compliance evaluations of dining facilities to ensure adherence to contractual, regulatory, and operational standards.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • This "Mission Essential" position requires the incumbent to report or remain at work during severe weather or emergencies (natural or man-made) to support mission operations.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 1 security investigation or access for the duration of employment.

Specialized Experience: Your resume must reflectone year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Conducting compliance evaluations of dining facilities to ensure adherence to contractual, regulatory, and operational standards; (2) Utilizing a database to document inspection findings to ensure accurate reporting and compliance tracking; (3) Inspecting food preparation processes to verify meal quality, progressive cookery, and plate waste management; and (4) Providing guidance to dining facility staff on the proper care, use, and maintenance of food service equipment to maintain efficiency. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Food Service Management or another related field. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Compliance InspectionFood ServiceOral CommunicationProblem Solving Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
