About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th AFSB, Logistics Readiness Center Maintenance Division located at Fort Cavazos.

Duties

Conducts analysis of data within AFMIS for program requirements (DFAC headcount, subsistence account status, menu compliance). Consolidates and submits quarterly Food Cost and Feeding Strength Summary reports to Food Program Manager (FPM) for review as required by regulation. Plans, directs, organizes, coordinates, and has overall responsibility for equipment replacement and coordination of vendor repair of existing and new equipment. Maintains records for all food service equipment for replacement; evaluates requirements for new equipment and modernization of dining facilities, Outpost Food Trucks, Kiosks and Bistros. Develops policies, instructions, and/or procedures, conducts analysis and surveys for new food service equipment. Serves as team leader for Food Service QAE and coordinates training for quality assurance evaluators assigned to the surveillance mission. Researches and implements latest developments in quality assurance by reviewing technical publications and documented independent studies.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Secret (tier 3) Security Clearance.
  • This position requires the incumbent drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required and must be maintained for the position.
  • This position may require shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • This position requires business travel approximately 10% of the time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Food Service, Hospitality Management, and Culinary Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Food ServiceManages ResourcesPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
