About the Position: This position is located at the 407th Army Field Support Brigade Logistics Readiness Center, Supply & Services Division, Food Services Branch in Fort Cavazos, TX.
Duties
Conduct quality assurance inspections to ensure food program compliance.
Audit, inspect, and document noncompliance, submitting required reports to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
Use Automated Food Management Information System (AFMIS) as a database for program review and serves as on-site system administrator.
Review facility operations to ensure service and quality are maintained.
Develop surveillance techniques to inspect food service facilities and food service equipment.
Monitor and advises food service matters including but not limited too account status’, food cost evaluations, and inspections.
Attend food service briefings, seminars, workshops, and conferences concerning food service support.
Coordinate with the Preventive Medicine Office on sanitation standards and trainings.
Maintain records on all food service equipment for replacement.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position has been designated mission essential; employee must make every effort to report for/remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
- Position requires a valid driver’s license (light vehicles).
- Position requires incumbent work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Business Travel away from the duty location is up to 10%.
- A National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Background Investigation is required.

Current Civilian Employees of the Organization is defined as current career or career conditional employees of the Army Sustainment Command, Army Field Support Brigade Logistics Readiness Center in Fort Cavazos, TX. within the local commuting area.
Consideration will also be given to current Army employees with competitive status.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: Your resume must reflectone year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Using databases to record, review and/or report on service programs; 2) Reviewing reports pertaining to food service operations; and 3) Coordinating with supervisors on work assignments to improve working methods. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Food Service Management or another related field.
OR,
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
