About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Supply and Services Division, at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia.

Duties

Coordinate all supply and services support provided for mobilization/demobilization, contingencies, national disasters/emergencies, for intel, cyber and signal missions of units. Advise leadership on matters concerning contingency, mobilization, demobilization, emergencies, national disasters, and reserve component logistical issues. Ensure coordination of mobilization, disaster, or other emergency plans. Research, analyze, develop, coordinate, edit, and publish all logistical portions and annexes to installation contingency, mobilization and demobilization and reserve component directives, plans and other materials. Monitor and evaluate unit readiness/status reports of mobilizing units to determine if discrepancies exist and facilitate unit corrections. Research supply support problems and issues and recommend procedures and methods for improving or correcting the situation. Visit activities, unit/sites, and other subordinate elements to instruct, advise, and assist staff and unit logistical personnel in supply practices and procedures pertinent to equipment, supplies, and services. Compile, analyze, and report a variety of logistical information to determine the most efficient and cost-effective means to accomplish desired results. Maintain surveillance of supply readiness for users of assigned systems and take immediate corrective action in case of mission impairment due to supply shortages.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5500-7-R.
  • In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
  • The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty and will receive training to ensure mission accomplishment of sustaining base operations during mobilization.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
  • In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This position may require the incumbent to be assigned to an irregular tour of duty which may include working irregular hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • This position is designated inclement-weather essential. Weather essential personnel are required to report to or remain at their place of duty to continue mission essential operations and/or provide support to severe weather response functions.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
