The position is located in the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity (OEEO), EEO Counseling and Intake Section of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Washington, D.C, Dallas, TX or San Francisco, CA. The OEEO implements effective strategies and proactive measures to ensure equal opportunity and the prevention of discrimination for any employment, program, training or activity conducted by the FDIC. Salary reflects a pay cap for this position of $275,000.

Duties

The Manager, EEO Counseling and Intake plays a pivotal role in managing a team counseling and processing EEO informal complaints adhering to defined timelines, policies and procedures.

Qualifications

To meet the minimum qualifications, applicants must possess the leadership and technical experiences listed below. These qualifications would typically be gained through serving in roles that require managing projects/teams or guiding the technical work of others. Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: All applicants must submit a resume that addresses each minimum qualification experience. Examples should be clear, and concise, and emphasize your level of responsibilities; the scope and complexity of the programs, activities, or services you managed; program accomplishments; policy initiatives undertaken; level of contacts; the sensitivity and criticality of the issues you addressed; and the results of your actions. You should use action-oriented leadership words to describe your experience and accomplishments and quantify your experience wherever possible to demonstrate your accomplishments (e.g., the number of employees supervised). Leadership experiences identified must have been performed in an official supervisory role. Leadership Experience 1: Experience in coordinating the work of employees in a work unit, including assigning and evaluating work; setting priorities, timelines, and expectations; and monitoring progress against goals; ANDLeadership Experience 2: Experience in setting performance expectations; assessing employee performance; providing recognition and rewards; providing feedback and development opportunities; addressing performance or conduct issues; and participating in recruitment and hiring activities. Technical Experience 1: Experience interpreting or applying Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the EEOC, regulations, directives, policies and guidelines to plan, execute, and oversee equal employment opportunity individual and class discrimination informal complaints; ANDTechnical Experience 2: Experience leading collaborative efforts to change EEO policies and programs for a large agency or organizations, including coordination in researching and evaluating gaps or needs, gathering data and information, developing and interpreting findings, developing and presenting recommendations and assisting with implementation; ANDTechnical Experience 3: Experience communicating at the managerial and technical levels in drafting, reviewing, and editing a variety of EEO- related documents, including, but not limited to, letters, memoranda, decision papers, employment-related contractual agreements, and reports.
