The incumbent serves as regional authority on the implementation and evaluation of policies, initiatives, and procedures in support of the civil rights and equal employment opportunity (EEO) program. Duties

Provides management oversight and direction in advancing SSA’s Civil Rights and EEO programs for the regions. Represents regional views and concerns in deciding how SSA policies should be designed to comply with national legislative mandates, court decisions and government wide policies. Conducts reviews of components and field installations to identify and solve systemic problems and barriers to EEO, including agency management policies and practices. Provides management advisory and consulting services designed to effect major changes. Provides guidance, advice, and recommendations to regional components and managers/supervisors at all levels on EEO concerns and responsibilities. Represents SSA in dealings with regional Federal and non Federal agencies and organizations on a wide range of EEO topics. Maintains and oversees regional counseling activities. Oversees counseling and provides assistance to the region's employees and management in the resolution of EEO complaints. Exercises regional SSA responsibility for review of complaint files, informal resolution attempts, case control, reporting, and coordination of discrimination complaint hearings. All coordination is across component lines.

Qualifications

Your SSA-45/resume must provide sufficient experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and proficiency of any required competencies to perform the specific position for which you are applying. To qualify for this GS-14 position, applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience should include providing guidance on Federal EEO principles, laws, regulations, and policies; recognizing and solving individual EEO problems and making technical recommendations on EEO issues; managing the regional administration of an EEO program to reach SSA Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility goals. In addition, experience must include working in a team environment and leading a group of people in accomplishing a common goal. **ALL of this specialized experience is REQUIRED and must be explicitly documented/described in your resume or you will be disqualified from further consideration.
