About the Position: This is for a Family Readiness Support Tech for 75th Ranger Regiment at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.
Duties
Execute family readiness program activities to enhance soldier and family support.
Manage public and military communications related to deployed personnel family needs.
Perform clerical duties to ensure efficient operation of the family readiness program.
Support battalion-level meetings and training sessions to address family readiness initiatives.
Facilitate unit communication and engagement to support family readiness efforts.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
- Irregular work schedule and/or overtime hours may be required

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Providing clerical and administrative support to unit commanders to address family readiness program needs; Assisting in planning and executing events, meetings, and training related to family readiness; Coordinating information dissemination to soldiers and family members regarding deployment, training, and readiness programs; Maintaining accurate records and ensured timely responses to administrative tasks.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
