About the Position: This position is located in Fort Moore, GA.
Duties
Prepare and submit orders for supplies and equipment using the automated material management system.
Manage accountable property and supply transactions in the DoD mandated property accounting system, Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS).
Receive, open and presort incoming mail and correspondence for District Office, and routes or delivers to appropriate office or official.
Manage the ordering/replenishment, receipt, storage, issue, and disposal, of all District curriculum materials.
Serve as the designated Government Purchase Cardholder (GPC) for the office under the supervision of a Billing Official and uses the GPC to purchase supplies and services for the activity.
Maintain a perpetual inventory of nonexpendable (accountable) property and durable supply records.
Inform senior management on recommended changes to system and process to clarify or increase efficiencies, report situations that require management intervention, and when variations have been resolved or implemented.
Provide guidance on the practices, procedures, capabilities, and operations of the activity's data processing systems.
Verify the availability of funds, supply levels, emergency conditions, economic order quantities, and authorizations to submit orders for supplies.
Interpret documents such as specifications, standards, technical orders, manuals, catalogs, manufacturer's brochures, and procurement contracts and terms used by manufacturers in the sale of various commodities.
Requirements
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
- Direct deposit of pay is required.
- One year probationary period may be required.
- Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
- This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated programs to order supplies and equipment; preparing purchase orders to obtain goods; and investigating discrepancies impacting inventory balances of supplies or equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
