Duties
You will be responsible for planning, laying out, assembling, repairing, testing and installing weight handling gear and standing and running rigging to move weapon system items.
You will devise means of moving and controlling movement of items through tight spaces, hatches, passageways, and areas where cranes or other material handling equipment cannot be used.
You will estimate weight and center or gravity of items to be moved and plan weight distribution and load maneuvering.
You will install beam clamps, gallows frames and other supporting structures and use jacks, pulley blocks, chain falls, and similar equipment to move and position items.
You will utilize dynamometers, load cells, or other load measuring devise calibrated for assurance of correct test loading.
You will perform various tests and inspections on weight handling gear and rigging to assure assemblies can provide for safe and effective lifting and transport of items.
You will be responsible for proper and safe signaling of overhead bridge cranes, hydraulic boom and lattice boom mobile cranes.
Requirements

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a forklift license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to qualify for inclusion into the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).
- This position is subject to provisions of the Nuclear Weapons Radiological Controls Program for occupational exposure to ionizing radiations.
- This position also intels climbing of vertical ladders and working within a height restricted fall zone which require the use of a safety harness.
- This position also holds the potential for operating aerial work platforms.
- You may also be requested to obtain a Class A CDL.
