You will serve as a RIGGER LEADER in the Weapons Department of SWFLANT KINGS BAY.

Duties

You will, in addition to Rigger Leader duties, maintain qualifications and perform regular rigging duties. You will be responsible for loading and offloading missiles, guidance systems, re-entry bodies, ballast cans and related systems/components on and off of Trident submarines. You will lead Riggers and Crane Operators by relaying instructions, ensuring safety procedures, preventing work delays and reporting progress to supervisors. You will provide support in the areas of missiles and missile support equipment handling, facility escort support, minor magazine maintenance, inspection of stored ordnance and launcher component/equipment processing.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • You will be required to qualify for inclusion into the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).
