About the Position: This temporary IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/NETWORK) position is located at the U.S. Army Operational Test Command, Intelligence and Electronics Warfare Test Directorate (IEWTD), with a duty location of Fort Huachuca, Arizona. (merit)
Duties
Serves as the directorate Information System Security Office (ISSO) to Intelligence and Electronics Warfare Test Directorate (IEWTD) to provide support in the planning, operations and execution of operational tests.
Serves as a network information management officer. Plans, conducts and reports operational tests, assessments and experiments for the acquisition and fielding of Warfighting systems.
Applies analytical processes to the planning, design and implementation of new and advanced Information Technology (IT) systems and projects to meet the business regulatory and cybersecurity requirements of customer organizations.
Work requires analytical ability, judgment, discretion and knowledge of IT programs, principles, concepts, policies, and objectives in order to perform duties.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret SCI (Sensitive Compartmented Information) security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is subject to applicant testing and random drug testing in accordance with DA guidelines.
- May be designated "Mission-Critical Emergency Employee" for Continuity of Government Operations (COOP). May be required to report for CONUS related duty during an emergency at an offsite location.
- This position is subject to a Temporary Duty or business travel requirement of 10% or less of the time.
- A one-year trial/probationary period may be required.
- This is a Temporary position intended to last 12 months. A temporary position may be extended to a maximum of three years and may be terminated at any time during the duration of the appointment, depending upon the needs of management.
- Must obtain and maintain information assurance certification and computing environment certifications within six months of appointment per Army and DoD Directive 8570.1.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Applying cybersecurity principles and/or concepts to support the protection of information; and 2) Identifying vulnerabilities to make recommendations for correction or advising on cybersecurity policy and/or guidance.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required specialized experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using specialized experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
