About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Plans and Operations Division, at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Duties
Prepare and implement logistics contingency, emergency, and mobilization plans.
Perform multi-functional logistics planning, budget formulation, operations, supply, maintenance, doctrine, training, and administration to support Installation Logistics Division requirements.
Determine the need for and plan detailed assessments of logistics situations which may adversely affect readiness.
Plan, conduct, and coordinate studies to assist in developing, reviewing, and analyzing all facets of logistics in support of contingency, emergency, and mobilization operations for the installation.
Provide recommendations to the Division Chief based on policies and guidance received from higher headquarters concerning emergency planning and contingency programs.
Responsible for special projects encompassing all aspects of planning and logistics support for long and short-range operations and exercises.
Receive staff actions pertaining to logistics matters requiring coordination of input from commodity managers with the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC).
Coordinate with and serve as liaison to the Directorate of Public Works, installation office, and other staff support personnel regarding LRC functions and operation elements.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential".
- In the event of a crisis situation or wartime, the incumbent must continue to perform the duties and requirements of the position to ensure the success of combat operations or to support combat essential systems.
- This is a deployable DA civilian position. The incumbent will be required to receive and remain up to date on required immunization for overseas or deployed location.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid regular or official U.S. Passport.
- This position may have a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of any length including 6 months in duration or longer in CONUS or OCONUS in austere locations.
- This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete on-line computer based training and residential deployment training within agency mandated time frames.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Developing, coordinating, and/or evaluating emergency, contingency, and/or mobilization plans and/or operations; 2) Conducting analysis of logistics facets pertaining to contingency, emergency, and/or mobilization plans and/or operations; and 3) Coordinating with others to resolve emergency planning or mobilization issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
