About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Plans and Operations Division, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Duties

Assist in planning, coordinating, and synchronizing training management; personnel and physical security; Emergency Operations Center (EOC) support; internal operations tracking; school requirements; and security clearances. Write Operations Orders (OPORDS), Fragmentary Orders (FRAGOS), and Memorandums of Instructions (MOIs). Prepare plans in support of contingency operations to include battalion integrated contingencies and movement of forces and personnel. Plan and conduct exercises designed to test the adequacy of existing plans; and analyze and evaluate battalion capability to execute emergency operations. Plan, coordinate, and conduct readiness/mobilization in-process/after-action reviews as required. Participate in training exercises directed by higher headquarters; assist in the establishment of objectives and coordinate accomplishment of directed tasks and missions. Assist in all areas of Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning. Monitor the execution of emergency, mobilization, and contingency plans.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This position requires the incumbent to work extended hours during training exercises.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). -OR- Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or another related field. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) -OR- Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
