The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Administrative Support Specialist managing and providing to the Squadron Director on effective and efficient management of a variety of Squadron programs to include, but not limited to the Civilian timecard program and Customer Service Representative.
Duties
Oversees the overall management and administration of the organization's Records and Information Management program
Serves as the resident subject matter expert for administrative support programs
Performs duties associated with the administration and management of the drug-testing program
Performs other clerical and administrative work in support of the office / organization

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-7, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of DoD and command management principles, organizational theory, information management policies, and personnel program regulations sufficient to develop internal organizational guidelines, supplements, and procedures; to resolve problems associated with staffing packages, administrative procedures, and work processes; and to develop appropriate program metrics. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
OR
EDUCATION: Have completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D., if related. NOTE: You must submit copies of your official college transcripts.
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Have less than the full amount of specialized experience described in the job opportunity announcement; however, and I have at least one year of progressively higher level graduate education, but have not obtained a master's or equivalent graduate degree. Therefore, I have a combination of experience and education. Note: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.
Due to the use of 90-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 90 days of the closing date of this announcement. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the GS-07 grade/level or equivalent position in the federal service.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-7 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-9 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge and skill in the application of DoD, Joint, and AF information and personnel security concept principles and practices to plan and implement various support programs.
2. Knowledge of the organizational and functional responsibilities and operations of an organization.
3. Knowledge of security practices for ensuring the safeguarding of classified information in a complex security environment.
4. Ability to plan and organize management programs and functions of an organization.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
