We're looking for a Deputy Associate Director for Program Management to join our team!

Duties

In this position, you will serve as the Deputy Associate Director for the Office of Program Management. Additionally, this position: Lead a team of experts consisting of project managers, product managers, analysts, and support staff. Responsible for the management and execution of multiple projects and programs. Supports the Associate Director's efforts to identify, attract, recruit, and develop a multi-disciplinary Office of Program Management team that focuses on project execution and customer satisfaction. Coaches, mentors, trains, and develops a highly technical staff to consistently deliver superior project management service. Serves as a Project Manager, with overall responsibility for managing technical, specialized projects, i.e., IT and data for short- and long-range planning, scoping, development, and direction of important inter-agency and inter-governmental large multi-year projects. Obtain and maintain Level 3 Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers (FAC-P/PM) program certification with IT Core-Plus Specialization. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of projects to ensure that established milestones are accomplished on time, within prescribed funding parameters, and in accordance with client business objectives. Plans, directs, and provides management strategy regarding the planning and implementation of assigned projects. Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of complex projects in meeting goals and objectives and develops modifications, revisions, and implementing procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of a project. Serve as the Acting Associate Director when the AD is unavailable, or when the position becomes vacant.

Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience making decisions and initiating required action in program planning, scheduling, or budgeting; and reviewing project management plans, reports, and memoranda to determine and implement changes needed to manage large, multi-million-dollar projects or programs. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
