This position is located at Departmental Offices, Management CFO - Information Systems and Chief Information Officer. As an Information Technology Specialist (Infosec), you will serve as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) in the information assurance program of the wide area network, unified communications and cloud infrastructure.

Duties

As an Information Technology Specialist (Infosec), you will: - Provide technical expertise to the design, development, and implementation of information security policies and procedures. Devise and conduct risk assessment programs to identify areas of potential vulnerability in operating systems used throughout the organization. - Prioritize and schedule areas to be evaluated and develops assessment criteria. Ensure compliance with government-wide information security policy directives. - Evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs. Identifies new processes, techniques, and procedures to upgrade and enhance security protocols. - Lead project teams to implement systems security programs and to integrate IT security with other disciplines. - Provide technical advice and leadership on security aspects of network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security applications and policies.

Requirements

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience: - Developing, defining, managing, and documenting IT security projects; AND - Applying Federal information systems security protocols to integrate information systems security with other security disciplines; AND - Performing or managing Federal information systems security assessment and authorization. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resumé. In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service: Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
