In this positoin you will serve as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist system analyst, utilizing existing and future technologies to plan, design, and implement new or upgrade existing IT systems to meet the business requirements of the Communications Squadron's mission partner organizations.

Serves as a senior technical advisor. Independently designs, builds, tests and maintains server hardware to meet business needs; translating technical specifications into integrated systems that provide automation of business practices. Works independently or as a member of a team providing system design and programming services for one or more systems or subsystems.
Serves as a senior systems analyst to the installation. Conducts in-depth systems analyses of existing systems and system components to determine comprehensive installation business requirements and opportunities for new and/or enhanced information technology.
Troubleshoots complex design and hardware implementation problems. Identifies system requirements in terms of objectives, functions to be served, and expectations of management. Tests and validates systems, develops designs, and plans for integrating hardware and software for information systems, and ensures configurations are consistent with current and planned infrastructure
environments. Independently works to isolate and resolve design problems encountered during test and implementation stages.
Consults with lead and other developers to determine the effect on end user applications based on changes to the operating environment. Participates in or conducts special projects and initiatives to include long and short-term planning to meet operating system needs in the migration of modifications into production systems.

- This position is a TERM position NOT TO EXCEED November 28 2026 but may be extended or lead to a permanent position.
- Information Assurance (IA) Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes IA work as a paramount duty requirement.
- Per DoD 8570.01-M, incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within 6 months of assignment of IA duties.
- All military and Government civilian IAT personnel must achieve the appropriate IA certification unless a waiver is granted per paragraphs C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3.
- This is a TERM Not to Exceed position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM)
Qualification Standards for Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 (Alt A) positions located here.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the requirements specified in the section titled Education or the requirements specified in the section titled Experience.
Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent):For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02 or equivalent
to the next lower grade GS-11 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is responsible for working with the team to help with the development and deployment of business systems to include the design, development, planning, testing, quality assurance, configuration management, and initial operational integrity of hardware and software systems to meet the business requirements.
Position specific skills and experience desired in a potential candidate:
2 years of experience in Windows Server administration desired.
2 years of VMware vSphere/vSAN administration desired.
2 years of STIG evaluation and implementation desired.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of IT system analysis, operating system concepts, functions, techniques and capabilities sufficient to evaluate new/ emerging IT security methods, feasibility of proposed new systems; design, test and maintain IT systems ensuring successful integration.
Extensive knowledge of virtual environment, SAN and LUN provisioning, configuration and management. Knowledge of principles, methods and practices for integrating information system components sufficient to build systems and optimize system performance.
Knowledge of IT systems life cycle methods to include system documentation, system requirements and techniques, design development, CM, cost benefit analysis, systems analysis, unprecedented design methodologies, systems integration, data administration and testing.
Knowledge of IT system analysis concepts and development techniques required to carry out project assignments of considerable difficulty and methods to install, configure, test and implement modifications and to interface hardware and software programs with OS.
Ability to gather facts and use analytical and evaluative methods to access requirements; apply CASE tools to design development processes; deviate from traditional methods; and solve a variety of complex or intricate computer hardware/software problems.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to coordinate technical support of systems. Knowledge of the latest advancements in technology to initiate corrective or preventative action to ensure optimum performance of the system.
