Duties
You will enforce criminal laws of the United States aboard MCB Quantico lands.
You will enforce compliance with all laws, rules, regulations and treaties administered by the U.S. fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Marine Corps, Department of Defense, Commonwealth of Virginia, district of Columbia, and all adjacent states
You will perform Law Enforcement activities through planning, directing, and independently conducting investigations of persons and/or parties who are suspected of criminal offenses.
You will exercise initiative and resourcefulness in developing evidence in supporting legal charges as alleged.
You will be required to develop and submit proper reports and to provide testimony in state and federal court and work directly with the U.S. Attorney.
You will manage weapons and ammunition for all Marine Corps Conservation Law Enforcement Officers. You will be required to perform light armor maintenance on all weapons, maintain records, ensure proper weapon and ammunition storage.
You will conduct initial weapons training and qualification for all newly hired Conservation Law Enforcement Officers and Use of Deadly Force training for all Marine Corps Conservation Law Enforcement Officers.
You will act as training coordinator and liaison between the Marine Corps and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center for the purpose of ensuring all training requirements are met.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license and have the ability to safely operate motorized
boats/vehicles.
- Required to attend and successfully complete designated academy at the Federal Law
Enforcement Training Center in order to maintain commission with this agency.
- This position has a maximum entry age of 37. Candidates that will be older than 37 at the time of appointment will require an age waiver.
- You are required to bear and maintain proficiency in the use of hand and shoulder fired firearms, and incapacitating
devices and materials and qualify bi-annually.
- Satisfactory completion of medical examination required and maintaining a high degree of physical fitness per Marine Corps order 5090.4.
- Overtime may be required.
- You are required to obtain and maintain a Law Enforcement Commission with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and to be appointed by the Commanding General for the base.
- This position is a Tested Designated Position (TDS) and subject to random drug testing.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting a full range of complex law enforcement activities leading to the arrest and prosecution of person or person(s) suspected of violating criminal laws of the United States.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
