This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Administrative Resource Center - Funds Management Division. As a Budget Analyst, Funds Management, Division. As a Budget Analyst, you will perform specific projects in terms of issues, organizations, functions, or work processes to be studies and sets deadlines for completing the work..
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Knowledge at this level is at the first full-performance level. Position requires skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature.
Guidelines consistent of standard reference material, texts and manuals covering the application of analytical methods and techniques (statistical, descriptive, or evaluative) and instruments and manuals covering the subjects involved. Analytical methods contained in the guidelines are not always directly applicable to specific work assignments.
The work principally involves dealing with problems and relationships of a procedural nature rather than the substance of work operations, issues or other subjects studied.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé.
For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Experience posting and approving documents in an accounting system (such as Oracle);
Experience monitoring the status of funds and/or financial transactions for an organization; AND
Experience in researching the application of laws, regulations, and policies of budgeting and/or accounting.
OR You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.
For the GS-9, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Experience posting documents in an accounting system (such as Oracle) OR
Experience providing technical guidance regarding budget and / or accounting related issues
OR You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows:
master's or equivalent graduate degree, if related or
two-full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, if related or LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
You may qualify using a combination of experience and education.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-9 level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-9, you must have been at the GS-7 level for 52 weeks.
