The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As a Management Analyst, you will:
Research and investigate new or improved business and management practices for application to Housing programs and operations.
Develop management plans, procedures, and methodology.
Conduct complex and special studies for efficiency and productivity and recommend changes or improvements in work methods, and procedures.
Develop procedures and systems for establishing, operating, and assessing the effectiveness of administrative control systems.
Review administrative audits and investigative reports to recommend appropriate changes or corrective action required.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience:
For the GS-13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as work that involves:
- Researching policy and program information to obtain qualitative, quantitative, and financial data to reach decisions or recommendations; AND
- Writing reports or responses to policy or program inquiries; AND
- Presenting information, analysis, and recommendations verbally to individuals and diverse groups to work toward consensus on changes or corrective actions.
For the GS-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as work that involves:
- Researching policy and program information to obtain qualitative, quantitative, and financial data to reach decisions or recommendations; AND
- Writing responses to policy and program inquires; AND
- Preparing and presenting information and recommendations verbally to individuals and diverse groups in order to implement changes.
For the GS-11, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as work that involves:
- Researching policy and program information to obtain qualitative, quantitative, and financial data to assist with decisions or recommendations; AND
- Assisting writing responses to policy and program inquires; AND
- Assisting with presenting information, analysis and recommendations verbally to individuals within the organization.
OR You may substitute education for experience as follows:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M. , if related; OR
You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. This is creditable providing the combination consists of 100% of the requirement. Only graduate level education in excess of 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Education
The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the
