This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - JOINT SERVICES PROVIDER.
Duties
Provides operational technical advice and assistance to watch team members on daily duties and scope; receives, analyzes, coordinates, monitors, and reports critical incidents across the DISA J6 enterprise impacting J6 customers.
Provides ongoing optimization and problem-solving support, conducting, assisting, and reporting 24x7 Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI) in support of US Cyber Command and JFHQ-DODIN Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA).
Monitors all ongoing operations and exercises involving Department of Defense personnel deployed to the area of responsibility.
Proficient in customer service environment to assess user needs, provide information and assistance, resolve problems, or help satisfy user expectations of standard and non-standard services.
Receives, analyzes, coordinates, monitors, and reports critical incidents across the enterprise impacting customers within the DISA J6 Area of Responsibility. Conducts sound analysis of incoming operational, mission and emergency information.
Requirements

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- This is a drug testing designated position.
- This position is covered under DoD Manual 8140 which will be subject to future Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the Manual.
- Incumbent must possess or be able to obtain an Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level II commercial certification, within 6 months of employment.
- Position requires working irregular shifts.
- Overtime and COMP time may be required as workload demands.
- Requires availability on an on-call 24-hour basis via government provided laptop, phone, and/or
remote dial-in.
- This is a Mission Essential position.
- Regular and recurring telework.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Basic Requirements:
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
OR
Attention to Detail- experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been asked by others to review their work or data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards
Customer Service - experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing current information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products and services that are tailored to meet customer needs
Oral Communication -briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience
Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience coordinating, analyzing, and monitoring functional connectivity during events, providing information assistance to customers to satisfy user expectations, as well as analyzing critical incident reports impacting customers.

Education
