You will serve as a Administrative Assistant in the Marine Corps Base Quantico of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.

Duties

You will assist and provide personnel with guidance on applicable procedures, instructions, and regulations pertaining to official correspondence in the preparation of official correspondence per the Naval Correspondence manual. You will respond to routine nontechnical requests regarding status, reports, meeting schedules, duty status of respective member, and suspense dates for action items based on information from the files provided by other offices. You will be the liaison with the Installation civilian manpower training officer in the maintenance and tracking of yearly civilian workforce training for office civilians and supervisors of civilians ensuring all training is timely. You will prepare reports using word processing software, spreadsheets, databases, or presentation software to provide managerial support. You will assist the office timekeeper to maintain time and leave records. You will assist the supply management officer, monitors personal accountable property inventories and asset management activities.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector 1) Using automation systems and various software packages to accomplish work assignments such as preparing correspondence; editing text; and file creation, maintenance, and retrieval; 2) Receiving phone calls; and receiving and reviewing incoming correspondence to route messages to appropriate unit/department member; 3) Maintaining calendar of events for senior officers, managers, and senior leaders to remind them of existing appointments; furnish briefs on subject matter and/or purpose of meeting; and to make new appointments; and 4) Coordinating travel for senior officers, managers, and senior leaders including arranging itineraries; preparing travel orders; and making transportation, lodging, and/or car reservations.
