You will serve as a Administrative Assistant in the Administrative Support Assistants (OA) of Directorates or Divisions of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.

Duties

You will perform a variety of administrative, secretarial and clerical duties in support of departments and staff, coordinating information and providing assistance regarding office policies and procedures You will assist and provide personnel with guidance on applicable procedures, instructions, and regulations pertaining to official correspondence in the preparation of official correspondence departmental policies and procedures. You will serve as the liaison between the HR and Payroll office for processing of civilian personnel actions and payroll matters. You will provide assistance in budget formulation by coordinating with staff to justify budget requirements, refine submissions, and provide briefs and updates to department management as required on changes to requirements and/or priorities.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying knowledge of administrative rules, procedures and operations to perform administrative support functions, including customer service assistance, maintaining appointment calendar, file maintenance and related clerical work; 2) Using word processing and spreadsheet programs to prepare, format and proofread correspondence, forms, briefing, messages and/or reports; 3) Maintaining a document filing system procedure to archive documents; and 4) Coordinating with others in resolving questions and providing data to support the program. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
