This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA JITC.
Duties
Serves as a team lead directing the efforts of other automation specialists, data analysts, and technical/administrative personnel in large scale, labor-intensive projects including hardware in the loop, and operational testing of systems using TDLs.
Directs and controls the Hardware in the Loop Testing of U.S. and foreign national systems implementing Tactical Data Links (TDLs).
As a technical authority in assigned Tactical Data Links (TDL) area, performs studies, coordinates, and provides technical guidance and direction for one or more projects or programs.
Conducts testing and provides technical support for system tests.
Establishes methods and procedures for securing and maintaining test program support.
Experience in the testing and evaluation of Tactical Data Link systems (TDLs). Experience with TDLs testing and evaluation of electronic elements, digital computers and related ancillary devices, and their computer software.

- This is a covered position, and the person selected for this position must complete an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment pursuant to 5 CFR 2634.903(b) (DoD 5500.7).
- This position is covered under DoD Manual 8140 which will be subject to future Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the Manual.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Basic Requirements:
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in testing and evaluation of Tactical Data Link systems comprised of electronic elements, digital computers and related ancillary devices, and their computer software, including hardware in the loop and operational testing of systems.

Education
There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GG-13 grade level
To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the
U.S. Department of Education .
