This is second shift from: 4:00pm-12:30am (EST), Monday to Friday
Duties
Incumbent keeps abreast of current IT technology in order to provide technically accurate recommendations for solving complex problems expediently.
Reviews, validates, and standardizes problem resolutions for inclusion in the problem resolution database.
Researches, evaluates and provides feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements for new or modified systems and services based upon an analysis of business needs and practices.
Validate appropriate Configuration Management controls are in place to ensure that only authorized and acceptance tested changes get promoted to production.
Plans finance and accounting system operations activities, including release of code to production, maintenance of the configuration management repository, test environments, Operational Readiness Reviews and resolution of production issues.
Serves as first line of support for resolution of production issues.
Performs release management and serves as the primary support for resolving production and/or batch cycle related issues.
Coordinates with the hosting provider for planning purposes and resolution of issues.
Perform system restore and refreshes. Coordinates with database administrators and programmers as required.

Customer Service- experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing current information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products and services that are tailored to meet customer needs
Oral Communication- briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience
Problem Solving- identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions
In addition to the Basic Competency Requirements listed above, one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-11 in the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as providing customer service and support by responding to customer requests; troubleshoots, analyzes, evaluates and diagnoses problems, and renders immediate resolution, whenever possible, perform release management and/or configuration management; has working knowledge of JCL and IBM Mainframe AND IT-related experience demonstrating Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving as described in the vacancy announcement.
