You will serve as a Telecommunications Specialist in the Integrated Battlespace Simulation and Test (IBST) Department of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Duties

You will verify subsystem specifications on receivers, antennas, transmitters, and switching networks to ensure proper operation and functionality. You will serve as a technical authority within the NAWCAD for electromagnetic compatibility, specifically, in matters pertaining to the EA-18 aircraft and weapons E3 projects. You will plan, conduct, and report on research of complex communication systems to manage or control frequency allocations for subsystem EMC for government agencies. You will coordinate the evaluation of E3 disciplines for aircraft weapons systems and their components for group engineers or technicians.

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing test and evaluation of EA-18G systems and subsystems including jamming capabilities; 2) Utilizing broad knowledge of aircraft systems and communication required for command/control, bus monitoring, and data transfer; 3) Verifying subsystem specifications on receivers, antennas, transmitters, and switching networks to ensure proper operation and functionality; and 4) Operating test equipment and instrumentation to measure, analyze, and report operating characteristics.
