You will serve as a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST in the Electromagnetic Compatibility Branch, Integrated Combat Environments (ICE) Division, Integrated Battlespace Simulation and Test (IBST) Department of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will verify subsystem specifications on receivers, antennas, transmitters, and switching networks to ensure proper operation and functionality. You will serve as a technical authority within the NAWCAD for electromagnetic compatibility, specifically, in matters pertaining to the F-18, T-45, and weapons E3 projects. You will plan, conduct, and report on research of complex communication systems to manage or control frequency allocations for subsystem EMC for government agencies. You will coordinate the evaluation of E3 disciplines for aircraft weapons systems and their components for group engineers or technicians.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) performing system level electromagnetic compatibility testing on aircraft systems; 2) utilizing broad knowledge of aircraft systems and communication required for command/control, bus monitoring, and data transfer; 3) verifying subsystem specifications on receivers, antennas, transmitters, and switching networks to ensure proper operation and functionality; and 4) operating test equipment and instrumentation to measure, analyze, and report operating characteristics.
