About the Position: Serves as Synchronization Staff Officer (SSO) and principal representative for Deputy Chief of Staff (G8), Force Development Directorate Aviation Division (FDV), ensuring proper allocation of manpower, funding, and material resources. The ideal applicant would have a working knowledge of Army Aviation Programs and Systems.
This position will be recruited only at the GS-12 grade level only with a career progression to the GS-13 grade level.
Duties
Manage acquisition systems to ensure manpower, funding, and material resources are properly allocated to support timely development, procurement, and fielding of new items.
Set goals, objectives, sequencing, and timing of key program events and milestones.
Develop new systems to improve acquisition program efficiency and effectiveness.
Identify requirement and acquisition planning guidance during the program and budget development process.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

GS-13 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-13 level which includes identifying requirement and acquisition planning guidance during the program and budget development process; setting goals, objectives, sequencing, and timing of key program events and milestones and developing new systems to improve acquisition program efficiency and effectiveness.
GS-12 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level which includes ensuring force structure and hardware fielding is compatible; formulating hardware systems distribution plans; and managing acquisition systems to ensure manpower, money, and material resources are properly allocated to support timely development, procurement, and fielding of new items.
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
