About the Position: Serves as Deputy Chief of Operations. Primary responsibilities consist of directing and providing guidance and direction on current and pending military logistics and sustainment operations to all AMC command elements.
Duties
Responsible for directing the analysis, identifying key logistical issues, and recommending courses of action to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Logistics and AMC senior leaders during emergencies, contingencies, and operations.
Provide continuous analysis of current military operations by reviewing Situational Reports (SITREPs) and briefings.
Exercise the full range of supervisory and personnel management authorities and responsibilities in directing work of subordinate staff.
Establishes objectives and coordinate the efforts of a team of senior logistics management specialist performing a variety of complex tasks related to the development and promulgation of logistics concepts and doctrine.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random drug testing.
- This is a supervisory position and may requires one year probationary period.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade which includes directing overall management of assigned global sustainment operations for the current and future force; managing and directing crisis action responses; developing courses of action for logistics and sustainment policies; and advise on strategic sustainment for the mobilization, deployment, employment, sustainment and deployment to home station of forces to support contingency operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
