Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Is the Joint Wargaming and Experimentation Division Chief performing work in support of the CJCS through integration with the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the military Services, U.S. Combatant Commands, Combat Service Support Agencies, liaison with Defense Warfighting and National Laboratories, Think Tanks, interagency, Allies and partners, private industry, and academia enhances the nation's current and future military capabilities.
Duties
As a SUPERVISORY CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT ANALYST (JWED DIVISION CHIEF at the GS-0301-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Provides the broad vision and guidance required to define and execute the DoD's Joint Wargaming and Experimentation program
Leads joint and combined wargaming and experimentation campaigns to assess Joint Concepts considering future threats to inform Joint Force Development
Develops experimentation based recommended changes to U.S. military capabilities that are used to meet future joint force requirements
Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of joint concepts in meeting established goals and objectives
Directs the development and maintenance of a repository of ideas, articles, studies, reports and other documents within DoD, federal agencies, academia, and industry for possible inclusion into joint concept development activities

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS- 15, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:
Provides the broad vision and guidance required to define and execute the DoD's Joint Wargaming and Experimentation program;
Develops experimentation based recommended changes to U.S. military capabilities that are used to meet future joint force requirements;
Documents wargame and overall experimentation campaign assessments and evaluation reports based on analytical rigor, through experimentation;
Directs the development and maintenance of a repository of ideas, articles, studies, reports and other documents within DoD, federal agencies, academia, and industry for possible inclusion into joint concept development activities
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
