The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as Information Systems Security Manager of the 557 Weather Wing and tasked with managing the organization's SCI communications and computer security functions. Establishes policies, and coordinates actions throughout the wing to ensure protection of intelligence data.
Duties
Serves as the principal advisor to the 557 wing Senior Intelligence Officer on SCI Computer Security (COMPUSEC), TEMPEST, and related security matters.
As the 557 WW ISSM, acts on behalf of the 577 WW/CC to implement systems security policy, guidelines and standards for the 577 WW.
Represent the Wing in the computer security certification activities of the national intelligence community.
Directs and coordinates, across the wing staff the activities of AIS security personnel associated with wing SCI AIS systems through issuance of guidelines and standards.
Evaluates future trends and requirements for wing SCI network security, identifies opportunities to enhance security, and provides guidance for investigating new or emerging network security technology.

- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
Qualifications

Experience: Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving AND one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11(or equivalent in other pay systems) which includes; Optimization of the missions and functions of the organizations supported by the wing SCI AIS. Provides planning/guidance assistance and technical support, to include DoD Intelligence Information System (DODIIS) staff at the Defense Intelligence Agency, the National Computer Security Center at the National Security Agency, a wide variety of intelligence agencies and numerous commercial vendors which provide significant support to the on-going development and maintenance of the wing AISs'.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Sound, theoretical knowledge and practical understanding of agency communications and computer security functions, theories, regulations, policies, and techniques. Ability to communicate effectively wilh others, both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or question's relating to work.
2. Knowledge of management and organization's missions and objectives and their implications on security management programs. Ability to maintain good working relations. Ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations.
4. Ability to meet and deal with customers using a high degree of tact and diplomacy. Ability to advise others.
5. Ability to plan, conduct and record surveys arid inspections.
6. Ability to execute projects and/or studies within established financial and time constraints.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
