About the Position: This position is with the US Army Space & Missile Defense Command (SMDC) in Colorado Springs, CO. Incumbent will serve as an advisor and primary action officer for the SMDC G32 Special Missions Office.

Duties
Represents SMDC at working groups, in-progress reviews, and other conferences and meetings.
Prepares information and decision briefings, for the organization, developed from written analysis, requirements documentation, operational plans and oral presentations.
Participates in weekly space and missile defense working group to ensure each command staff elements and operational units receive the latest information and training on counter space and missile defense-related information.
Develops space control and missile defense subtasks and missions to be performed by designated contractual support.
Provides analytic, space control and missile defense expertise to G-3 in the analysis of Service, Joint, and Component space impacts and doctrinal issues in the development of planning guides.
Submits Army space and missile defense capabilities and requirements for planning and modernization documents.
Performs analyses to determine applications of counter space and missile defense operations to assist in solving Army battlefield deficiencies and operational warfighting need.
Supports G-3 in developing proposals and preparation of the SMDC position for requirement analyses, demonstration of counter space and missile defense operations support capabilities which adapt commercial, allied and U.S. government systems.
Develops supporting space plans and associated annex/appendices in support of Unified Command and Command Contingency plans and orders.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement up to 25% of the time.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position requires occasional work before and after regular duty shifts.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning space control and missile defense requirements for an organization; integrating space and missile defense capabilities into operational missions; AND serving as a representative for space and missile defense operational planning groups. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11).
