About the Position: Serves as the Branch Chief for the Resource Management Office Budget Branch in the New Orleans District, LA. The major responsibilities include the development, execution and tracking of the Districts Command Operating Budget.
Duties
Presenting budgetary briefings to organizational leadership regarding monetary forecasts and outcomes.
Coordinating and assigning work to subordinates based on priorities.
Overseeing recruitment needs and requirements in support of the organization's objectives.
Directing a staff of individuals to ensure quality work is being accomplished according to deadlines.
Providing technical guidance to program managers regarding the development of cost estimates for long range-multiyear project plans.

Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position requires a one-year supervisory probationary period to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position requires a Financial Management Level II certification within two years of appointment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Providing technical guidance and direction to subordinate staff in budget planning and execution, 2) Identifying and resolving current or potential funding issues, offering policy recommendations for solutions, AND 3) Overseeing all aspects of budget formulation across the organization, including developing schedules to meet deadlines and analyzing data for accuracy and compliance with funding laws and regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
