About the Position: Serves as the Branch Chief for the Resource Management Office Budget Branch in the New Orleans District, LA. The major responsibilities include the development, execution and tracking of the Districts Command Operating Budget.
Duties
Compliant with laws such as appropriation law statutes with Public Law 97-258, federal Managers financial Integrity Act, and the Chief financial Officers Act.
Maintains liaison with other levels in the command, with other DoD and federal agencies, and with customers in order to clarify procedures and policies in dealing with fiscal, financial, and administrative issues.
Serves as the District representative in the consolidation of the District's Budget into the Regional Command Operating Budget, and the establishment of Regional Rates.
Participates in District and Regional meetings.
Advises and makes recommendations regarding managerial, procedural, organizational and fiscal matters.
Requirements

- This position requires a one-year supervisory probationary period to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position requires a Financial Management Level II certification within two years of appointment.

One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing a wide range of administrative and analytical duties in the formulation, presentation and execution of the administrative and management portion of an agency's budget, 2) Providing advice and assistance to agency managers in the development of budget requests and related supporting documentation, AND 3) Conducting studies of employee/organizational efficiency and productivity and recommending changes or improvements in the organization, staffing, work methods and/or procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
