You will serve as a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Engineering and Planning Department PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will ensure that assigned surface ships and submarines completing availabilities will have the logistics and maintenance support that reflects the ship's end of overhaul equipment configuration. You will plan, organize, and direct the activities of the Logistics and Contracting Branch. You will plan and establish the work schedules, deadlines, and standards for acceptable work; coordinate and integrate contractor work schedules and processes with work of subordinates or others. You will review organization mission, functions, and manning; identify requirements and initiates requests for additional resources including personnel, overtime, equipment, supplies, and space to ensure success in meeting goals and objectives. You will identify and implement process improvements to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers in test processes, and to increase the quality of products delivered. You will assess and revise policies and procedures as needed to find ways to improve quality, timeliness, and efficiency of work.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing logistics management functions involving the planning and execution of ship maintenance and modernization.
