You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Ocean Engineering Integrated Logistics Division of PSNS and IMF. GS-09: $67,147 - $87,291 GS-11: $81,242 - $105,612

Duties

You will prepare material requisitions for parts and material to replenish kits, onboard repair parts and warehouse inventory. You will provide inventory management for Depot Level Repairables, shelf-life, DSS/SOC, Level 1 and other special emphasis program material. You will manage database of Property, Plant and Equipment (PPE) assets assigned to Ocean Engineering. You will apply specialized methods and techniques to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of supply programs or operations. You will prioritize kit preparation and delivery according to published schedules. You will identify, prepare and provide Material Tracking Tags (MTT) and Material Delivery Record (MDR) information for both on and off site locations You will inspect material and receiving paperwork, verify part number, quantity, material type (LEVEL 1, DSS/SOC, SPE, Shelf life, Hazardous).

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • The work involves frequent stooping, bending, walking, and working in tiring or often uncomfortable positions.
  • The work involves pushing, pulling and lifting of materials weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • The work involves climbing ladders or stairs, entering dry docks, and cramped, confined spaces.
  • The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a forklift certification.

Qualifications

GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning and coordinating the receipt, packaging, shipping, expediting, or kitting of materials used in support of the maintenance and repair of systems or equipment onboard ships or submarines. GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting in coordinating the receipt, packaging, shipping, expediting, or kitting of materials used in support of the maintenance and repair of systems or equipment onboard ships or submarines. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify for the GS-11 Grade Level with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
