You will serve as a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Ocean Engineering Department of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will review plans, workload forecasts, and periodic maintenance requirements to produce schedules and forecast required engineering, production and material support. You will establish a logistics plan to sustain platforms and equipment that support life cycle and operational plans. You will develop and administer Master Storage and Inventory Management Plans for Ocean Engineering Department. You will determine long range material and inventory requirements to support availabilities and ensure execution phase success. You will initiate and coordinate correspondence with government agencies and contractors to ensure (Integrated Logistical Support) ILS products and inventories are maintained current and accurate. You will communicate with internal and external organizations management and leadership on issues related to ILS requirements and impacts that support, life-cycle, schedules, and products. You will develop, support, metric and monitor supply programs such as distribution facilities, storage management, and transportation/traffic management operations that support stock positioning and inventory functions and systems support.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
• This position will require you to submit a Confidential Intelligence Polygraph examination on a random basis, not-to-exceed every five years in the performance of the position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GsS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing and implementing Integrated Logistic Support processes to modernize and sustain new and existing material acquisition procedures that support the life-cycle of ships or ship systems programs..
