This position is located in Fiscal Service Office of the Augusta VA Medical Center. The Program Management Officer reports to the Assistant Financial Officer. The Program Management Officer ensures programs run efficiently by providing staff-type support to network service lines, committees and management when DSS data might provide benefit and presenting data when appropriate.
Duties
Duties may include but are not limited to:
Responsible for achieving DSS program goals and maintaining DSS operations for the network;
Develop, implement, monitor and document action plans that cross medical center programs;
Determines program resource needs;
Coordinates all routine tasks, updates, changes to the system, auditing and documentation of all actions;
Plans, directs, schedules, coordinates and reviews the work of those whom he/she supervises at multiple locations;
Performs analytical and evaluative work associated with service line and program;
Understands and uses microcomputers, computerized applications and software packages such as SQL, DSS, VISTA and MS office;
Prepares written guidance and policies to support the use, operation and maintenance of the DSS system.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement,11/26/2024 .
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-13 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12 . The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-12 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: managerial oversight of clinical operations, execution and management of large section of employee, Capital Asset projects. Knowledge and application of clinic contract administration principles. Planning, coordination, and execution of business functions, resource allocation, and production.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Some work may require walking in offices, hospitals, warehouses and similar areas for meetings and to conduct work. Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite. Incumbent may carry light items.
