About the Position: This position is located on Fort Shafter, Hawaii, which is near the Historical Palm Circle on the island of Oahu. Oahu is the 3rd largest island in the Hawaiian chain. The island is very geographically diverse with mountains, rainforests, volcanic craters, tropics, beaches and much more. Duties

Responsible for the direction, development, planning, scheduling, resourcing, and execution of numerous Training Exercises and activities. Review existing policies for suitability, feasibility, technical accuracy, and adequacy. Oversee the planning, development and commitment of Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC) resources to the Five-Year Exercise Training Plan. Prepare decision/information briefings, papers, mission analysis process, operations order, identification, and organization of forces. Perform immediate supervisory duties, assigns work to employees based upon priorities, difficulty of assignments, and capabilities of employees.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Pre-employment physical is required.
  • TDY Travel required up to approximately 25 - 50% of the total duty time.
  • During rotational exercises, the employee is required to work a flexible duty hours which includes - weekends, holidays, and shift work consistent of 10-12 hours days for an extended 2-week period.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Analyzing training exercises and activities; assisting in the decision making process for training plans, exercises, operations, readiness and procedures according to standards; coordinating actions in the proper channels and developing policies that incorporate the principle of command and control. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education and TrainingOral CommunicationOrganizational Performance AnalysisWriting Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
