Duties

You will examine, verify, maintain, and reconcile accounts and accounting data and prepare and analyze reports. You will review and determine signature authentication and correct processing codes. You will examine invoices, voucher, and related documents. You will make and verify arithmetical computations. You will determine pay, payroll records maintenance and completion of reports pertaining to civilian employees of the Federal Government. You will answer requests and provide advice to employees, supervisors, staff in other financial management series and personnel specialists on pay related rules, regulations, and procedures. You will establish, maintain, correct and close pay accounts for active, reserve, or retired armed forces personnel and their annuitants. You will in process, out process, and separate service members, respond to pay inquires, review pay debts, and process adjustments. You will perform budget analysis and administration such as maintaining ledgers, budget formulation, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

Qualifications

GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Performing account maintenance and accounting support work, performing work in the receipt, disbursement, and custody of cash items, and answering questions from personnel regarding pay rules and regulations. GS-09: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Utilizing accounting, budgeting or other financial management methods, techniques, procedures to carry out assignments significantly difficult and complex.
