Duties
You will examine, verify, maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data.
You will answer requests and provide advice to employees, supervisors, financial specialists and personnel specialists on pay related rules, regulations, and procedures.
You will establish, maintain, correct, and close pay accounts for active, reserve, or retired armed forces personnel and their annuitants.
You will perform technical work in support of the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and custody of cash items.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing account maintenance and accounting support work, performing technical work in support of the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and custody of cash items, examining documents for accuracy and adequacy, establishing, maintaining, correcting and closing pay accounts for personnel, formulating budgets, and compiling and consolidating funding data.

Education
4 years of education above high school may be substituted for specialized experience.
