You will serve as a Transportation Assistant (Counselor) in the Navy Household Goods/Personal Property Shipping Office (HHG/PPSO) of NAVSUP FLT LOG CTR JACKSONVILLE OMNR.
Duties
You will communicate with members/employees, their dependents or agents to elicit their shipment needs and services desired.
You will explain shipment and storage options, excess costs, special procedures for shipments under various types of orders, and approximate transit time.
You will review and finalize applications for Shipment and/or Storage of Personal Property.
You will communicate with members/employees, their dependents or agents to elicit their shipment needs and services desired.
You will conduct inspections.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You may be required to drive during inclement weather, and could include distances up to 200 miles per day.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing work requiring knowledge and application of standardized transportation policies, regulations, principles and methodology to assist in customer transportation support assignments and related movements of personal property and household goods. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1) Assist in determining the extent of entitlements and eligibility for shipment; 2) Assist in performing personal property shipment management functions regarding inbound and outbound shipment and/or storage of household goods; 3) Utilizing automated information systems to input a range of standard information to compile the required documents for shipment, calculate shipment and excess costs, and/or identify storage options.
