This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Program Operations and Local Engagement (OPOLE), Innovation Model Operations Group.
As a Supervisory Health Insurance specialist, GS-0107-14, you will serve as Division Director for one of the DIMOs, which serves multi-state regions across the U.S. as the local focal point for activities related to Innovation Model (IM) activities.
Duties
Direct the work of Health Insurance Specialists and contractor staff. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, establishes long and short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Formulate short and long-range DIMO-related plans, goals, and objectives, identifying resources needed to achieve optimum results.
Collaborate with federal agencies, clinical and analytical experts, and healthcare management (e.g., providers, payers, states, businesses, community agencies, etc.) to assist in assessing the impact of new innovation models.
Manage Health Insurance Specialists supporting model participants, monitoring program participants for compliance, and fostering learning and collaboration as points of contact for participants, providers, and other stakeholders.
Directs the analysis of new or proposed program policy, regulations, or legislation impacting assigned areas of plan operations in coordination with CMS Headquarters.

In order to qualify for the GS-14 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Plan, direct, and evaluate health care payment program activities; and 2) Develop program goals, and short- and long-range program plans; and 3) Develop and maintain operational partnerships.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
