You will serve as a Paralegal Specialist of NLSC.
Duties
You will provide legal analysis and interpretations of directives, manuals, laws for attorneys.
You will interview potential witnesses and prepares summary interview reports for the attorney's review.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day client intake, appointment scheduling, and case file management.
You will be responsible for collection and maintenance of DES Program metrics and day-to-day management of administrative matters.
You will prepare and organize case exhibits.
You will identify and analyze problems and weigh relevance and accuracy of information.
Requirements

Qualifications
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing the legal impact of legislative developments and administrative/judicial decisions; conducting research for the preparation of legal opinions; and communicating of the issues and legal research and preparing legal documents. Examples of specialized experience includes duties such as: 1) Using electronic databases such as LEXIS, WESTLAW, and VTA to perform legal research; 2) Interpreting and applying technical material, rules, regulations, and instructions to a given situation; 3) Performing substantive legal analysis, communicating the issue(s), and applying the legal research in clear and concise oral and written form; 4) Assist with interviewing clients/witnesses and preparing summary interview reports for attorney's review; 5) Applying knowledge of legal adjudicative processes and timelines to provide assistance.
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing the legal impact of legislative developments and administrative/judicial decisions; conducting research for the preparation of legal opinions; performing substantive legal analysis; communicating of the issues and legal research and preparing legal documents. Examples of specialized experience includes duties such as: 1) Reviewing legal case materials to become familiar with questions under consideration; 2) Interviewing potential witnesses and prepares summary interview reports for the attorney's review; 3) Using a case management system, database, or other software to manage cases, organize files, and track clients and deadlines; 4) Preparing and organizing case exhibits; 5) Overseeing or administering legal office operations that ensure compliance with established guidelines and requirements; 6) Using electronic databases such as LEXIS or WESTLAW to perform legal research.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-09: Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or, 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or, LL.B. or J.D., if related.
GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or, 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or, LL.M., if related.
